Coke is no stranger to obscure collaborations. After all, the world-renowned beverage is enjoyed by almost every country on Earth, and every subculture that lays within it. Sneakerheads are one of those, and Coca-Cola has explored more than a handful of footwear capsules over the years, most notably with Ronnie Fieg, Kith, and Converse. Now, blending two of the nation’s most loved brands, Japan’s ASICS links up with Coke for a cross-over on the GEL-Quantum 90.
Simply executed, the pair pays tribute to the classic Coke bottle and branding, with the brand’s famous vivid red engulfing the entirety of the upper. Caging features a cut-off ribbon logo in signature white, with the hue also hitting the mid and outsole foam. Further branding is found on the heel in a tonal red, while the iconic bottle silhouette features on the forefoot lacestay. For a sweet final touch, the Gel cushioning in the heel is tinted green, a nod to vintage glass bottles and cups seen throughout mid 20th Century America.
