Original Post 01.11.21 // Virgil Abloh and the Swoosh have been cooking up something big during the COVID lockdown, with the two returning for a sophomore OFF-WHITE x Nike “THE 20” Collection in 2021, according to reports.
Sneaker-sleuth @PY_Rates took to Twitter to tease the scintillating news, which didn’t come with much information at all other than hinting that its arrival will be soon. The leaker’s success rate is borderline perfect, so while we don’t often get excited about some sneaker bombshells, for this one we are. What will the pack include? Which Air Jordan will be the centerpiece? And what overarching color palette will we see hit the releases? All intriguing questions will be debunked over the course of the next few weeks and months.
Update 03.14.21 // After a few months away from the headlines, it’s time again for Virgil Abloh to return to center stage, this time with a bombshell information drop for his upcoming OFF-WHITE x Nike “THE 20” Collection for 2021.
No, it won’t include the previously-previewed OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 1 “Canary” or the OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 4 “Bred” (although they are expected to arrive at some stage this year, too). In fact, it will include 50 different colorways of the OFF-WHITE x Nike Dunk.
Yes, all of them will be Dunks. Though they won’t be as first pictured by sources (above)
Instead, Virgil will be dropping 49 near identical colorways of white and grey, each with its own uniquely-colored rear tag, laces, insoles, and ankle bade that areas #xx of 50. The 50th pair will be a special black and silver pair. While we do have some first looks below, there’s likely to be a lot more to follow, so stay tuned for further updates on the collection right here on the official HOUSE OF HEAT Twitter account.
Update 03.18.21 // A first look at the OFF-WHITE x Nike Dunk Low “50 of 50” has arrived, and true to the original info, the pair arrives in jet black with sparkling silver Swooshes. Details on the pair are purple and pink, while laces are set to arrive in black and white.
