Serpentwithfeet is not done with his ministry. Days after releasing his anticipated sophomore album, Deacon, the Baltimore-born artist, makes his first appearance on COLORS to perform “Amir.”

Styled in a daringly chic outfit, serpent lays down a striking conversational tone that resembles the original song in a cream-colored soundstage.

Serpent has said in a press release that “Amir” sonically was inspired by Musiq Soulchild and other ‘90s R&B gents like Carl Thomas and Bilal.

Other essential tracks from serpent’s Deacon LP include “Heart Storm” from Nao and the at-sea dance number “Sailors Superstition.”

Leading up to the digital drop of the follow-up to 2018’s Soil, serpent dropped a few pre-Deacon tracks, including “Same Size Shoe” and “Fellowship,” featuring Sampha and Lil Silva.
