I swear Jordan Brand takes us all for fools. Year after year, sneakerheads have been calling for a retro of the OG Air Jordan 12 “Cherry” — a sneaker that hasn’t hit shelves since 2009. The fan-favorite is atop a lot of people’s lists when it comes to original colorways needing that elusive retro. Next year will mark 12 years since it’s last retail release, with many hoping that a 12-year wait for the 12 may finally be over. Instead? The Jumpman is serving up this Air Jordan 12 “Twist”, an alternate version of the original
Expected to arrive similar to the Photoshop rendering above and below, the pair brings some similarities to the OG Cherry, including white leather uppers, black rear pulls, metallic silver eyelets, and black tongue Jumpman branding, too. The mudguard and outsole have been completely covered in white (good luck keeping those clean), while midfoot Jumpman paneling remained rendered in red. The tongue’s “TWO3” embroidery is switched to red, as is the pair’s lining, and the outsole detail has also twisted its colors around, too.
With a July 31st, 2021 release on the cards, we won’t expect to see first looks for a minute, so until then you can grab a detailed look at the Photoshop of the expected colorway here below, and be sure to give us a follow on Twitter for further updates as we move closer to the middle of the new year.
