Winter sucks for a ton of reasons; aside from the freezing cold temperatures, icy sidewalks, and depressing low light, the fact that the conditions don’t typically allow for us sneakerheads to wear our kicks is the worst of it all. With the depths of the season accounted for through Winterized releases, there’s now a new solution to the cold, dry days which would once rip off your toes to frostbite: the Air Force 1 Low “Toasty” — and now, a third colorway has appeared!
Forming part of a wider warm and cozy collection, this insulated Air Force 1 also doubles up as part of Nike’s Move to Zero campaign, with recycled pieces rife through the pair, including at the sole unit, Swoosh, and overlays. The upper panels all arrive in quilted nylon of grey hue, again housing comforter-like heat-retaining properties. Plush fleece liners and insoles which showcase the trademarked “Toasty” tag are the most obvious callouts to the sneaker’s toe-warming attributes, as are Nike’s special external tags that channel traditional insulated outwear. The pair is then completed by the Swoosh’s repurposed Move to Zero Pinwheel logo at the tongue, and 3D-stitched Swooshes in the rear.
